Whitereport.co.uk is officially open for business - shadow minister for business welcomes innovations to London
OCT 26, 2017

Three Hungarian female media experts with an innovative cross-media data aggregation platform + 2 UK board directors = Lots of UK cross-media data and surprising new market insights (with great Hungarian wine at their launch party), with Bill Esterson MP, Shadow Minister for Business and International Trade, speaking as Guest of Honour, to welcome innovative companies expanding to the UK in the post-Brexit era.

By offering a unified, single-source cross-media platform that aggregates the commercial, financial and ownership data of all television, radio, print, online, out-of-home and cinema players, our Whitereport mediabrowser’s pioneering service helps media industry stakeholders to get a more transparent and factual view of the media market, and to track its ever-changing supply and demand.

Scaling up from the Hungarian market, our UK data platform launches with 1000+ UK media companies identified from independent public sources – and this is just the beginning, the ‘tip of the iceberg’. The first insights point out that after 102 large size media companies more than 1000 of the UK media companies are SMEs. The largest segment is dominated by traditional content companies – only 8 can be classified as ’digital only’ - and Whitereport evidence shows how much traditional media (with digital services) is more successful financially.

Chairman of the UK Board Hamish Sandison adds that most of the current media regulation was born in a different era of limited media supply, so Whitereport’s evidence of the new reality might impact public policy, regulatory and competition decisions, as well. UK Board member Phil McCauley emphasizes the importance of Whitereport’s decision to make London its hub for international scale-up.

The decision of Whitereport to settle their global hub in London - with a succeful Hungarian operation and a back-office in Budapest - is hardly surprizing, considering how the UK is a hugely influential, massive media market, which continues to dominate the international media industry, the looming Brexit notwithstanding. Bill EstersonMP, Shadow Minister for Business and International Trade, speaking as Guest of Honour, welcomed Whitereport to London on the 25th October at the University Women's Club in Mayfair.
